MPTS (GMC) Hearing Post Manslaughter Conviction (2013)

Adrian Darbishire QC represented Dr G, a consultant urologist who had pleaded guilty to manslaughter in 2012, in misconduct proceedings before the MPTS. A patient under the care of Dr O had died as a result of culpable delay in the provision of necessary investigations and treatment. After a four-day hearing, in which extensive submissions were advanced in relation to the circumstances of the death, the MPTS Panel rejected the GMC's bid for erasure and imposed a term of 12 months' suspension.

Adrian was instructed by Sara Mason (MDU Legal).
