QEB Hollis Whiteman is a leading barristers’ chambers based in the City of London specialising in business crime, general crime, professional regulation and discipline, health & safety and intellectual property.

Our barristers have appeared for either prosecution or defence in many of the leading cases in these fields over the last 40 years. This work has involved not only the senior members of chambers, but the active participation of our pupils, assisting at all levels in important cases.

LIBOR – prosecuting a branch of the investigation as well as defending numerous individuals involved in various strands of LIBOR proceedings;
Forex – defending a number of individuals in relation to allegations of manipulation of foreign exchange rates;
Helidon Vuciterni - Private prosecution in criminal intellectual property infringement relating to Premier League football matches;    
Financial Conduct Authority regulatory defence – representing various individuals being disciplined by the FCA for market abuse;
Ketan Somaia – private prosecution of 9 counts of obtaining $19.7m by deception;
News International Phone Hacking trial – the defence of Clive Goodman and Rebekah Brooks;
Red Arrows Inquest – represented the family in the inquest into the death of a Red Arrows pilot Sean Cunningham who died as a result of an ejection seat malfunction;
Hillsborough Inquest – assisted with the preparation of the inquest and appeared as junior counsel to the inquest;
Mid Staffs NHS Inquiry – counsel to the widely publicised public inquiry into failings at Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust;
Operation Tabernula – prosecuting the most complex insider dealing investigation undertaken by the FCA    ;
M5 Crash – defending fireworks contractor charged with breach of health & safety laws following M5 crash deaths;
Stephen Lawrence Inquiry – conducted the independent review and produced subsequent report regarding allegations of corruption in the original police investigation of the murder of Stephen Lawrence and the role of undercover policing;
Dharmasena – defence of the first ever prosecution of female genital mutilation, defendant acquitted;
Stuart Hall – represented former broadcaster who was acquitted of 15 counts of historic rape;
Eddy Shah – defended former Today boss who was acquitted of historical charges of rape.
Semsarilar – ‘Sanctions Busting’ case –defending of client who was acquitted.
