Seminars

Many of the barristers at QEB Hollis Whiteman are experienced and expert speakers, in a range of subjects.

We have a number of members who offer particular expertise, both as speakers and trainers, in their specialist area of law. For example:

Mark Aldred is an expert in covert surveillance-related legislation – the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act, Public Interest Immunity and the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act – and has frequently spoken on these and related matters. He is a former police sergeant and lecturer at University College London.

Ari Alibhai is a specialist in intellectual property crime, fraud and confiscation and has given numerous seminars and lectures to Trading Standards, Police Regional Intelligence Units and the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.

Caoimhe Daly is a part-time Lecturer at the London School Economics, specialising in Company Law and Corporate Governance.

Jeremy Donne QC has recently spoken about preparation for healthcare tribunals to a conference of healthcare professionals.

David Groome regularly addresses trading standards authorities on effective prosecution. With Ari Alibhai he recently addressed the Trading Standards Institute on the continuing application of conspiracy to defraud in counterfeiting cases.

Sean Larkin is a practised and accomplished speaker at conferences on regulatory issues.

Selva Ramasamy has spoken on a number of subjects including the Fraud Act 2006 and drafting heads of change. He has co-chaired a seminar on the Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007.

Paul Raudnitz lectures on a range of legal subjects, including The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 and The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
