R v TL (2016)

Owner of childrens' activity camp cleared of child cruelty; Philip Evans QC defends.

Philip represented TL owner of a childrens' activity camp company who was charged with child cruelty after allegedly failing to report indecent images of young girls which had been found on his colleague’s phone. In his defence Phillip Evans QC, argued Mr L had met with his brother AL and fellow director DR to agree to report the matter to police and there was only a short period of time between the discovery on the phone and his colleague BL's arrest. Mr L was acquitted after an 4 day trial. Philip Evans QC was instructed by Paul Morris, BCL Burton Copeland.
