The Use of Drill Music in Criminal Trials Part II - The Defence Response

This podcast forms part of a 4-part series on the use of drill music in criminal trials in which Oliver Mosley speaks with senior and junior counsel about their experiences of drill music in court.

In Part II, Oliver speaks with William Boyce QC about the defence response to drill music. William speaks fresh from a  murder trial where drill music evidence was excluded, and discusses the challenges defence counsel face when dealing with this kind of evidence. They consider the authorities and the future of drill music in court.

In Part III, released next week, Oliver speaks with David Spens QC about securing an acquittal in a drill music case and the use of defence experts.  David represented well-known drill artist and producer Daniel Lena ('Unknown T') in his trial for murder.
