A Podcast: The Use of Drill Music in Criminal Trials Part I - The Prosecution Case

This podcast forms part of a 4-part series on the use of drill music in criminal trials, in which Oliver Mosley speaks with senior and junior counsel about their experiences with drill music in court.

In Part I, Oliver speaks with former Senior Treasury Counsel Edward Brown QC about the prosecution's perspective. They discuss the origins of drill music as evidence, the growth in its admissibility, and the links with gang affiliation evidence. They also speak about how this evidence can be used appropriately and the challenge of preventing prejudice.

In Part II, released next week, Oliver speaks with William Boyce QC about the defence response to drill music evidence.
