R v Dr Fielden (2019)

Anaesthetist Dr Jonathan Fielden was sentenced on Monday to five months imprisonment suspended for 12 months and was further ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

Dr Fielden had previously pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism.

HHJ Richard Foster, in summing up, noted that: “It's tragic to see you, a man of such brilliance in your career - a hardworking man at the pinnacle of your career, responsible for a substantial part of the NHS budget - to fall from grace in the way you have because of what you stupidly did.”

Alexandra Felix was instructed on behalf of Dr Fielden by James Farrell of Slater & Gordon.
