Kerry Broome, with the assistance of Junior Counsel, Tim Naylor, successfully prosecuted seven members of a criminal gang who committed a series of armed robberies and an aggravated burglary in East London in June, July and August 2013. The victims were subjected to gratuitous violence including the discharge of stun guns and tasers. Five members of the gang fought the conviction at trial and were convicted on 27 June 2014.

On 18 July 2014, the gang members were sentenced to terms of imprisonment totalling 94 years.
