The Pension Regulator abandons rare criminal prosecution. Jason Mansell instructed for the defence.

Jason Mansell represented David Boardman who had initially been charged by the Pension Regulator with 6 counts of making prohibited investments, in his capacity as a trustee of a company pension scheme.

Mr Boardman denied the allegations and following his arraignment at Preston Crown Court in November 2022 Jason prepared detailed representations which, ultimately, persuaded the Pension Regulator to offer no evidence on the indictment. As a result, at Court on 16 August 2023 verdicts of not guilty were formally entered on all matters avoiding the need for a trial .

Jason was instructed by Chris Dyke of DAC Beachcroft.
