R v Abdel Malek (2018)

Defence of ‘the most difficult and demanding insider dealing case the FCA has ever brought’. UBS compliance officer accused of disclosing inside information in multiple deals to trader who made £1m+. Deals related to prospective merger and acquisitions transactions. Part of the background is the investigation into a multi-national insider dealing ring by the NCA, SEC, French and Swiss authorities with allegations of corruption at the NCA (subject to legal argument but not form part of the evidence).
