“Impact Statements for Business”, the corporate equivalent of “Victim Personal Statements” (impact statements made by victims of crime) have been around for a while. But they have now been reconsidered by Nicholas Griffin QC and Kyan Pucks in light of two new developments in April – see their review for LexisNexis “Using impact statements for business in corporate crime cases”.
In particular, the wide breadth of “businesses” who may make such a statement and the different types of loss that can appropriately be addressed are addressed. The review also provides a helpful checklist for practitioners advising business clients about these statements.
