Adrian Darbishire QC of QEB Hollis Whiteman, Michael Caplan QC (Member of the Sentencing Council) and Jonathan Grimes both of Kingsley Napley LLP today spoke to an audience of solicitors, contractors, insurers and authorities about the likely effect of the new sentencing guidelines.

After providing an overview of the guidelines the speakers shared their views on their likely effect, illustrated by considering how sentences in cases they had been involved in might have differed under the new guidelines. Adrian Darbishire also considered, by using examples, how the size of the defendant company could make a difference to the sentencing outcome.
