Murder conviction in Harrow house share stabbing - Fiona Robertson prosecuted the case

Fiona Robertson of QEB Hollis Whiteman, led by Catherine Pattison of 5KBW, prosecuted Javan Lee who was convicted of murder following a trial at Harrow Crown Court.

HHJ Lodge sentenced Mr Lee to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 22 years.

In summary, Javan Lee and Corey Graham were living in a house of multiple occupancy in Harrow but had repeated disagreements over the cleanliness of the property. On 30 October 2024 a confrontation took place after rubbish had been placed in the communal bathroom. Javan Lee armed himself with a knife, collected the rubbish and posted it through Corey Graham’s bedroom window provoking him to come into the front garden and confront Mr Lee while armed with a baseball bat. In the struggle that followed, Javan Lee stabbed Corey Graham 12 times. He was captured on CCTV soaked in the deceased’s blood as he walked to a nearby road to hide the knife before returning back to the HMO where he washed his clothes, gave false details to the police and pretended to have no knowledge of what had taken place. He subsequently jumped out his bedroom to escape. Over the following hours Javan Lee posted a series of memes and videos on social media in which he mocked the deceased and bragged about having got the upper hand in their fight. The jury rejected Javan Lee’s claim he acted in lawful self-defence after being attacked by Corey Graham and convicted him of murder.

Fiona was instructed by CPS Homicide.
