Eloise Emanuel represented Mr De La Roche, who pleaded guilty to failing to notify a change of circumstances, that he and his wife were in gainful employment, to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) .
The DWP originally alleged Mr De La Roche had been overpaid a five figure sum as a result of fraud; however, following representations by Counsel, the charges were reviewed and amended; the figure was reassessed and reduced, and the case concordantly remitted to the Magistrates Court.
Mr De La Roche received a Conditional Discharge.
