R v Patel (2014)

Philip Stott was junior counsel for Nikesh Patel, the first defendant in R –v- Patel and others at Blackfriars Crown Court.

Mr Patel faced an allegation of conspiracy to defraud Vodafone and other mobile telephone providers, with an estimated value of £2.4 million pounds. 

Mr Patel was successfully acquitted by the jury following a five week trial. Philip was led by Jonathan Ashley-Norman of 3 Raymond Buildings and was instructed by Kiran Mehta of Neumans LLP.
