Philip Stott prosecutes man jailed for life for murder of pensioner

Philip Stott acted for the prosecution in the case of R v William Kydd.

Mr Kydd was accused of murdering Carol Harrison, 74, in Teddington on the night of 20 August 2018, by assaulting her, knocking her unconscious, and then setting fire to her home.

The jury convicted Mr Kydd after deliberating for just 29 minutes. On 19 July 2019 HHJ Katz QC sentenced Mr Kydd to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 30 years.

Philip Stott was led by Tom Little QC and Mr Kydd was represented by Sir Ivan Lawrence QC.
