Tom Kark QC was instructed by the CPS to prosecute Mr Pirgali, who was found guilty of gross negligence manslaughter & death by careless driving.
The collision took place whilst the deceased was on route to hospital for dialysis treatment.
Mr Pirgali was sentenced to 12 months in prison & a 12 month driving ban.
