R v NS (2024)

S and the complainant (both paramedics) had been in an intimate relationship and had remained friends after the relationship came to an end. S would often visit the complainant when he was working close by and would stay the night in her bed. The complainant alleged that she had been assaulted and raped by S while she was asleep, that he had taken photographs and that she had not consented to any of this. As a result, she broke off all contact with him. S maintained that the complainant had been awake and consenting throughout.

S was found not guilty.
