Tom represented a man accused of conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration to member state. He was said to be a driver for an OCG that trafficked people out of the UK to France for profit. The migrants were taken from London to Dover and then loaded onto HGVs which boarded ferries. The investigation was led by the NCA. Tom’s client was acquitted of the conspiracy and convicted of a lesser offence of assisting an OCG on the basis of suspicion alone.
