R v Vasileva, Mihaylov and Vasilev

Nicholas Corsellis QC and Polly Dyer prosecuted Eleonora Vasileva, Iliya Mihaylov, and Marian Vasilev for modern slavery offences.

The three defendants trafficked women from Bulgaria to London, to work as prostitutes. They were charged with conspiracy to commit human trafficking, controlling prostitution and supply of class A drugs. They were convicted of all counts on 7th October following a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

On Thursday 17th October, they were sentenced. Eleonara Vasileva was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment, Iliya Mihaylov was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, and Marian Ninov Vasilev was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
