NMC v Ragoo (2012)

Caoimhe Daly, instructed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, successfully presented the case against Nurse Ragoo, ultimately leading to her being struck off the register of nurses.  Nurse Ragoo had been the registered manager at Heritage Court Nursing Home, now closed.  The home was registered to provide nursing and personal care for adults suffering from schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s and dementia.  Allegations of abuse at the home were found proven as well as allegations that Nurse Ragoo allowed and encouraged other patients to physically assault one another.  A patient died under Nurse Ragoo’s care, his ailments having been described by her as “made up” or “seeking attention”.
