Solicitor General v DM [2019] 11 WLUK 475

Suspended sentence for contempt (filming and livestreaming during murder trial).

The Solicitor General brought proceedings against DM in the High Court arising out of DM having filmed and livestreamed on Facebook a video taken during a murder trial which was presided over by Warby J. Nadesh successfully argued that the prison sentence for the 4 contempts should be suspended. He also persuaded the Court to make no order as to costs and to rescind a costs order made at the permission stage of the contempt proceedings.

Nadesh was instructed by Nicola Hutchinson of Reeds solicitors.
