The recent case of Dr Arora, an Indian qualified female doctor, has once again shone a spotlight on the fairness of fitness to practise investigations, and has again highlighted concerns about the discrimination which appears to exist in the referral and investigation of ethnic minority doctors.

Featured in HealthMatters, our Joint Head of Chambers, Selva Ramasamy QC co-authored a piece with Deepika Raino, Director and Head of Professional Regulation and Healthcare at Adkirk Law Limited who look into Dr Arora’s case and the Fair to Refer report. Conclusions from the enquiry into Dr Arora’s treatment are yet to be published.
