15 appear in court charged with criminal offences related to betting on the date of the 2024 General Election

The Gambling Commission, the regulator of gambling in Great Britain, has charged 15 people with the offence of Cheating in relation to bets they placed on the date of the 2024 General Election. It is alleged they placed bets with the benefit of confidential information as to when the election was planned to be held. They appeared at Southwark Crown Court on 11 July 2025.
