FCA discontinues Market Abuse case following contested hearing

Jason Mansell leading Kathryn Hughes acted for an individual who was the subject of a warning notice alleging he had disclosed price sensitive information to his best friend who had subsequently traded on that information.

Following the submission of written representations and after a contested oral hearing, the FCA's Regulatory Decisions Committee directed the Enforcement Team to issue a notice of discontinuance.

Commenting on the case, Jason said "the RDC plays a valuable and important role in the enforcement decision making process. The decision in this case demonstrates its independence and objectivity in bringing the allegations wrongly made against our client to a welcome end."

Jason and Kathryn were instructed by Andrew Katzen and Tom Bushnell at Hickman & Rose.
