Fraser Coxhill of QEB Hollis Whiteman appeared on behalf of DS Ray Mackennon, a Metropolitan Police officer, in misconduct proceedings arising from his supervision of an investigation into former officer David Carrick.
At the relevant time, DS Mackennon was serving within the Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards, where he supervised an officer investigating allegations made against Carrick in 2021.
It was alleged that he failed adequately to oversee the investigation, including by reason of alleged discrimination.
Following a hearing in south London, the Misconduct Panel found that none of the allegations were proven and that DS Mackennon had not failed in his duties.
Fraser was instructed by Rob Newbould (Blackfords LLP).
