On 13 August 2026, Gabriel Neophytou appeared for the prosecution at the sentencing of a former Environmental Health Officer employed by Thurrock Council, following their conviction for misconduct in public office and thirteen offences of using a false instrument, contrary to s.3 of the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981.
The offending concerned the submission of false food hygiene inspection reports which purported to record inspections that had either not taken place or had not taken place as recorded.
The defendant, who had pleaded guilty at their Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing, received a suspended sentence order for the offending.
Gabriel was instructed by Clive Uzoho of Thurrock Council.
