Polly Dyer acted for the General Dental Council in a prosecution involving the illegal practice of tooth whitening. The defendant pleaded guilty to an offence of unlawfully holding herself out as being prepared to practise dentistry, contrary to sections 38 (1) and (2) of the Dentists Act 1984 and to unlawfully using the title “dental technician”, contrary to sections 39 (2A) and (3).
