Jocelyn Ledward KC Leads Prosecution as Steven Wright Pleads Guilty to 1999 Felixstowe Murder

Steven Wright pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to the murder of a 17-year-old Victoria Hall, as well as to charges of kidnapping and attempted kidnapping arising from the same weekend in September 1999.

Victoria Hall disappeared while walking home after a night out in Felixstowe and her body was discovered five days later in a ditch near Stowmarket. Wright, now 67, was charged with the offences in 2024 while already serving a whole life sentence for the murder of five women in Ipswich in 2006.

The prosecution was led by Jocelyn Ledward KC of QEB Hollis Whiteman. Following Wright's guilty pleas to all charges, the matter did not proceed to trial.

Sentencing took place Friday 6 February. Steve Wright, already serving a whole-life term, is jailed for a minimum of 40 further years for the kidnap and murder of Victoria Hall in 1999.

Jocelyn Ledward KC was instructed by CPS East of England Complex Casework Unit.
