Mark Aldred of QEB Hollis Whiteman is representing the family of a Police Sergeant at an inquest following the officer's death after an interaction with the force's Professional Standards Department (PSD).
The inquest has heard evidence concerning significant impact that professional standards investigations can have on officers' mental health, alongside wider concerns about the alarming rise in police suicides during 2025.
