Members of Chambers both prosecute and defend in Banksy burglary

QEB Hollis Whiteman members act for both the prosecution and the defence in the trial of an alleged burglary of a valuable Banksy artwork. Philip Stott acts for the prosecution and Orla Daly represents the defendant, James Love, in the trial which is being heard this week in front of a jury at Kingston-Upon-Thames Crown Court. Mr Love is accused of participating in the burglary of a signed Banksy print, ‘Girl with a Balloon’, worth quarter of a million pounds, from a private gallery in central London on 8 September 2024. Another defendant, Larry Fraser, has already pleaded guilty and awaits sentence. Mr Love denies the allegation, and the trial is ongoing.

Orla Daly is instructed by Jennifer Richardson of Blackfords.

Philip Stott is prosecuting on behalf of the CPS.
