R v Croxton [2019]

Peter Finnigan QC and Caoimhe Daly defended a man charged with murder, having driven a car into the victim inflicting fatal injuries. The prosecution’s case was that this was motivated by revenge following an attempt by the deceased to rob the defendant in relation to a failed drug deal. The client pleaded to manslaughter on a basis, and was sentenced to four years and six months’ imprisonment.

Counsel was instructed by Neil Jarvis of Reeds Solicitors.

The case was widely reported in the press by the BBC.
