R v DB (2020)

Tom was instructed by Abigail Ashford of Reeds Solicitors to represent a foreign national and serving prisoner who was charged with a string of attempted ATM thefts across the country. B was serving for a like offence that post-dated this offending because the prosecuting authorities had not linked the offences at the time of his original charge. B pleaded guilty and received a further 2 years in custody. The court was obliged to sentence as if sentencing for all matters, old and new, in one go.
