Sean Larkin of QEB Hollis Whiteman, leading Stella Harris of Garden Court Chambers, defended Mr Campbell, who was acquitted of murder (convicted of manslaughter) following a three-week trial at Woolwich Crown Court.
The case involved intricate questions of medical causation and expert forensic evidence, The jury heard detailed neuro-pathology concerning commotio cerebi, as well as histopathological analysis relating the age and nature of the rib fractures.
The context of the case included allegations of financial abuse against the vulnerable individual, prior incidents of alleged violence, and a significant volume of bad character material.
