Southbank Christmas Party Brawl: Four Met Officers Convicted - Philip Stott for the Prosecution

Four officers from the Metropolitan Police Service have been convicted at Inner London Crown Court for their involvement in an altercation on London's Southbank on 1 December 2023.

Jack Sparkes, 34, Max Michaels-Dubois, 33, and Daniel Dean, 38, were each found guilty of affray, while Kellsey Millar, 32, was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and acquitted of affray. A fifth officer, Alex Fackerell, 32, was acquitted of all charges. 

The incident occurred after a Christmas party attended by the officers, who are all attached to the Territorial Support Group. An incident developed with a group of males who were wearing Romanian flags (that day being a Romanian national holiday). CCTV footage showed multiple physical altercations as well as an assault on a female security guard who intervened. Philip Stott acted a sole counsel for the prosecution. 

All four convicted officers were released on bail and will be sentenced on 22 October 2025 and misconduct proceedings will follow.
